How I debugged a broken Wix → Zapier → Kajabi integration using 4 AI tools, independent research, and a trigger string that exists nowhere in the docs.
// Zapier could not detect the Wix form. 8 of 9 forms were invisible.
I was building a lead capture automation: user submits their name and email on a Wix footer form → Zapier triggers → contact created in Kajabi. Simple in theory.
But when configuring the trigger in Zapier, only one form appeared — a lead magnet form. The footer subscribe form, live since April 2024 with real submissions, was completely invisible. 8 out of 9 forms: gone.
The form was working perfectly. Submissions were being captured in Wix. The Wix app was connected to Zapier. Yet Zapier couldn't find it.
I consulted four AI tools to get different perspectives. Each gave a technically valid answer. None worked within my constraints.
The AI tools gave me a broad solution space fast. But all of them reasoned from common scenarios. My situation — 9 old forms, free Zapier plan, no rebuild budget — fell outside their training patterns.
I noticed something in Wix's form dashboard: there were two tabs — "Forms" and "Old Forms." My footer subscribe form was under Old Forms.
Wix has two entirely separate form systems. The new system is fully exposed to Zapier. The legacy (old) system is not surfaced in Zapier's UI dropdown at all — even though it still works perfectly on Wix.
Zapier's Wix integration simply doesn't show old forms. But they're still accessible — if you know the exact trigger string to type manually.
By entering this string directly into Zapier's trigger field — bypassing the dropdown entirely — all 9 old Wix forms became accessible immediately. The fix took under 15 minutes once discovered.
// This string appears in no official Zapier or Wix documentation.
The full Wix → Zapier → Kajabi pipeline now runs automatically. Every form submission creates a contact in Kajabi in real time. No manual data entry. No new tools. No extra spend.
